BASE OILS

Carrier oils are “basic” oils and are derived (mostly) from the nuts and seeds of different plants. Different carrier oils offer different healing properties and are suitable for different skin types and products. They can be used alone (or in combination with another oil) as a moisturizer or to treat problem areas. They can be used to dilute strong essential oils and other products so that they are safe for the skin. When used in the latter way, they effectively transport all their nutrients to the skin and help the essential oil not evaporate too quickly.

They are also used for their healing properties in homemade body care products such as deodorants, soaps, body creams, scrubs and for many other recipes.
